Our law firm’s highly professional Support Team Staff will play an integral role of the success of your legal case. When you hire our firm, you can rely on the Support Team Staff to help you keep apprised of:
- The overall status of your case;
- All of your upcoming court dates and required court appearances;
- Any changes in your case, such as rulings made on traffic infractions;
- The status of discovery and evidence available for review in your case; and
- Other general knowledge of and information about the facts of your case.
Team members also assist clients in scheduling alcohol, drug, medical, mental health, or domestic violence evaluations when called for in a criminal or family law case.
Occasionally, Support Team Staff members may attend court with the law office attorneys, and some team members have assisted with jury selection and presentation of evidence at litigated civil and criminal trials.

Sara Sweetin - Senior Legal Assistant
Sara Sweetin came on board our team in May of 2015 as a Legal Assistant. She recently completed her Associates in Applied Sciences degree from Bellingham Technical College with a focus in Legal Administrative Assistant Studies. Sara is a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, and graduated from Mt. Baker High School. She currently resides in Bellingham with her two very active teenagers and their pet Chihuahua, Gracie. When she is not busy providing our clients with exceptional service, Sara can be found hiking, spending time outdoors, visiting with friends and family, and attending her children’s sporting events.
Genissa Richardson - Senior Legal Assistant and Rule 6 Law Clerk
Genissa Richardson joined the law firm Support Team Staff in May of 2014; she is a Whatcom County Native, and is a graduate of Mount Baker High School. She graduated from Western Washington University in June of 2000, earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. In November of 2001, she enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served as a Petty Officer Third Class before being selected for Officer Candidate School at New London, Connecticut. After receiving her commission, Genissa was assigned to Coast Guard Station Cape May, New Jersey, to serve aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Dependable as an Engineer Officer. In February 2006, she received an Honorable Discharge, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. After serving in the military, she returned to Whatcom County and enrolled in the paralegal studies program at Charter College. Genissa is now a Law Clerk under Washington Admission to Practice Rule 6, and is studying to take the Washington State Bar Examination. When not studying the law, Genissa enjoys running, sailing, CrossFit and many other outdoor activities. She lives in Bellingham with her husband and two Weimaraners.
