Adrian Martinez Madrone, Attorney, is an associate attorney with the Lustick Law Firm, PLLC in Bellingham, WA.  He joined the firm in 2010. 

He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington in May of 2007. In June of 2003, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Evergreen State College, in Olympia, Washington.

Adrian’s legal practice focuses on defending individuals in various criminal cases ranging from serious felony offenses to misdemeanor DUIs, domestic violence assaults, drug cases, thefts, and serious traffic offenses. He also provides the valuable legal service to clients of allowing them to vacate or seal court records of their past felony and misdemeanor convictions.

Recently, Adrian launched the Probation Law Defense Section at the Lustick Law Firm, in which he provides aggressive and effective representation to clients facing probation violations or revocations. In this role as probation law defense in Bellingham, he has helped many clients avoid or mitigate the harsh sanctions that could be imposed.

Adrian began excelling as a defense attorney and trial lawyer early in his law school career. During his time at U.W., he worked for a public defender agency in King County handling juvenile cases, adult misdemeanors, and contempt of court proceedings. He also assisted in litigating high-level felonies. Adrian also worked with the U.W. Tribal Court Criminal Defense Clinic providing public defense services on the Tulalip Reservation. Even before graduating, Adrian had the honor of taking three cases through full trials, all of which resulted in not guilty verdicts for his clients.

During law school, Adrian excelled at Moot Court and Mock Trial activities, winning the U.W. Mock Trial competition, Opening Statement competition, and the Judge John C. Coughenour Best Oral Advocate award. He also participated in numerous regional and national moot court competitions. Upon graduating, Adrian was selected as a national member of the Order of the Barristers.

Following law school, Adrian served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge Steven C. González in King County Superior Court. In that role, he worked a year and a half inside Washington State’s busiest trial court system. Adrian brings this inside knowledge of the court system to his current defense work.

Following his clerkship, Adrian served as a King County Deputy Public Defender, representing clients in the state’s busiest district court.

In early 2010, Adrian moved to Bellingham, WA and became a litigation associate of Fox, Bowman, Duarte, where he headed the firm’s Bellingham branch office. His practice was focused on top-quality and aggressive defense of D.U.I. charges. When that firm dissolved at the end of 2010, Adrian joined the Lustick Law Firm.

Adrian is an active member of the Whatcom County Bar Association and serves on the WCBA's Community Law Education Committee. Adrian was recently selected as a participant in the Leadership Tomorrow Program, and is currently involved in Leadership Whatcom,a community-based leadership networking program. Adrian also regularly lectures and presents to groups of high school and college students on legal topics.

Adrian resides in Bellingham with his wife, daughter, and newborn son. He is an active bicyclist, gardener, and cook.
