Mark A. Kaiman, Attorney joined the Lustick Law Firm, PLLC in 2006 and is presently a senior litigation associate and member of the firm.  His practice focuses on criminal law, civil rights claims, civil litigation, and family law in both the Bellingham, WA and Mount Vernon, WA branches of the law firm.

Mark graduated with honors from Syracuse University College of Law in New York State in 2000. He is an alumni of Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997.

With deep roots in the Northwest, Mark began his legal career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in San Juan County where for two and a half years, he prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and juvenile criminal cases in the San Juan County District and Superior Courts in Friday Harbor, Wash. Later he was appointed as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Bellingham and was assigned to prosecute DUIs, assaults, thefts, and other criminal matters in the Bellingham Municipal Court.

Upon leaving government service in 2003, Mark became a litigation associate attorney for the Law Offices of John O. Linde in Friday Harbor, Wash. and focused his practice on criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation. Mark worked in Mr. Linde's firm for three years before joining the Lustick Law Firm in February of 2006.

Mark occasionally presides as Judge Pro Tempore in the Blaine Municipal Court and in the San Juan County District Court in Friday Harbor, WA.

In addition to his prosecution and judicial experience, Mark has broad experience in various areas of civil law, including real estate, family law, and general litigation. Mark also has extensive trial experience as both plaintiff’s and defendant’s counsel in civil cases, and has successfully defended numerous individuals in litigated criminal jury trials.

Mark's is an avid tennis player and enjoys going to movies in the theater. He also enjoys sport flying, and is a military and space history enthusiast.

In 2009, Mark was honored as a "Rising Star” criminal defense attorney in Bellingham, WA by Washington Law and Politics magazine. In 2010, Mark was also rated as one of the top criminal defense lawyers in the nation according to the nationwide attorney rating website, AVVO.com.
