Attorney Jeffrey A. Lustick is the founder and senior managing attorney of the Lustick Law Firm in Bellingham and Mount Vernon, Wash. He was raised in the Skagit Valley and was a valedictorian of his graduating class at Mount Vernon High School in 1989. He is a 1993 graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham, and graduated with honors from Gonzaga Law School in Spokane, Wash., in 1997.

Jeffrey’s legal practice focuses on criminal defense, aviation law, and military law. Jeffrey has served as a military prosecutor and circuit defense counsel in the U.S. Air Force; was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Nebraska; and was the Bellingham City Prosecutor. Jeffrey has more than a decade of comprehensive trial and litigation experience, and has practiced law in 17 states. His prosecutor experience aides him immensely as a defense counsel.

In 2006, Jeffrey was President of the Whatcom County Bar Association, and prior to that, held positions in the bar as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor. He also served nearly eight additional years as a Air Force J.A.G. Officer in the Washington Air National Guard, rising to the rank of Major.



For three years, Jeffrey served as President of the Baker Creek Estates Neighborhood Association in North Bellingham where he worked to establish safety and security programs, founded a neighborhood block watch, and assisted on the drafting of the City of Bellingham's annexation plans for the area.

Jeffrey is an occasional legal consultant and on-air guest for TruTV (formerly Court TV) in Manhattan, N.Y. He also frequently is an on-air contributor, legal news consultant, and fill-in talk show host for KGMI Radio AM-790 in Bellingham. He has also recently appeared on ESPN Radio and on television in the Seattle area for news stories on KIRO-7, KING-5 and KOMO-4 news.

He is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Legal Plan Attorney’s Panel and has been a pilot since the age of 13. He has more than 1,300 hours of flight experience in Cessna and Piper aircraft. He is a proud member of the Washington Pilot's Association; the San Juan Pilot's Association; and the Civil Air Patrol.

Jeffrey was recognized by his peers as a “Super Lawyer” in criminal law by Washington Law and Politics magazine in 2008, 2009 and 2010. He was also rated as one of the top criminal defense lawyers in the nation according to attorney-rating website AVVO.com.
