Of-Counsel

Attorney Daelyn Julius is the Of-Counsel of the Lustick Law Firm in Bellingham. She is presently a student at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where she is studying for an advanced post-graduate law degree, specifically an LL.M, focused on taxation, the Internal Revenue Code, and U.S. Treasury Law. She is expected to complete her studies in the summer of 2011.

As Of-Counsel, Daelyn provides consultation and advice to the law firm's staff attorneys in the areas of search and seizure law, DUI defense, restoration of civil rights, and criminal records rehabilitation and vacation procedures.

Daelyn began her legal career in the summer of 2008 as a litigation associate with the Lustick Law Firm in Bellingham. Her practice was centered on misdemeanor criminal law, including DUI defense, domestic-violence cases, theft cases, drug offenses, and traffic law defense. She also worked to establish the Lustick Law Firm's Criminal Conviction Vacation section. In that process, she developed innovative new processes using local court procedures and state law to successfully remove felony and misdemeanor convictions from court records and to restore the individual civil rights of numerous citizens.

Daelyn earned her juris doctorate degree from Gonzaga University, School of Law, in Spokane, Wash., in 2008. In 2005, she received a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in Bellingham.

While attending law school, Daelyn balanced a grueling academic schedule with career-level legal employment. Daelyn worked as a Rule 9 Legal Intern in the misdemeanor unit of the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office where she defended citizens accused of alcohol-related driving offenses and domestic violence crimes. Additionally, she worked at the well-respected Center for Justice, a non-profit law firm in Spokane focused on defending the civil rights of citizens. Finally, Daelyn worked at University Legal Assistance, Gonzaga’s own legal clinic, serving indigent and elderly clients in the Spokane metropolitan area.

Daelyn is a sustaining member of Psy Chi, the national honor society for psychology graduates. She also continues her affiliation with the Gonzaga Public Interest Law Project, a student organization committed to assisting students in pursuing careers in non-profit organizations.

Daelyn has been very active in the community and regularly volunteers at the American Cancer Society Camp Goodtimes and for the Coaches for the Cancer dinner. She also volunteers with Meals on Wheels and has served as a Street Law volunteer consultant in Spokane.

Daelyn enjoys reading or hitting the climbing wall on the weekends.
