Family and Domestic Relations Law

Attorney Lauren Trent is a litigation associate with the Lustick Law Firm. Her practice focuses on all areas of family law, including divorce, legal separations, child custody and modification of existing domestic court orders. She also handles matters involving petitions for civil anti-harassment no-contact orders.

Lauren earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon, School of Law, in 2009. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, Jackson School of International Studies, in 2003.

During law school, Lauren served on the board of the Women’s Law Forum and the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund (OLSPIF). Lauren was also an Associate Editor for the Oregon Law Review and Managing Editor/Co-Founder of The Legality, an online legal journal. Additionally, she served as a Rule 9 Legal Intern for the Washington Attorney General in Bellingham, Wash., with much of her work focusing on child welfare issues. She also worked as an intern in the Lane County (Ore.) Counsel’s Office during her final year, assisting with general litigation matters. Finally, Lauren built on prior experience in the area of mediation and dispute resolution when she served as a small claims court mediator for Lane County.

Prior to law school, Lauren worked as a receptionist at the law firm Puckett and Redford, PLLC. She was soon promoted to paralegal and trained in the area of Landlord Tenant law. Lauren then served as the Legal/Legislative Assistant for the non-profit Northwest Women’s Law Center (now Legal Voice).

Lauren joined the Lustick Law Firm in 2009 to expand the firm’s family law practice. She guides her clients through the arduous process of forming or dissolving all types of families, establishing parenting plans and child support orders for unmarried parents, and seeking or defending against civil protection orders.

Lauren is a member of the Whatcom Women Lawyers and the Whatcom County Bar Association. She is thrilled to be in Bellingham and plans on taking advantage of the proximity to Mt. Baker by learning how to cross-country ski. She also loves to sing and spend time with her family.
